Founded by Qi Huan and Ginny Gan, both award-winning dancers with extensive professional careers and teaching experience, Ballet Quarter is a ballet school based in Singapore that strives to provide access to a well-balanced, comprehensive and high quality dance education to cater to every student’s abilities, goals and aspirations. Be it a young dancer taking their first steps into a dance studio, a teenager/adult looking to take their dance training to the next level, or an aspiring dancer hoping to pursue dance professionally, Ballet Quarter offers something for everybody.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coach students effectively in preparation for internal assessments and RAD examinations

• Prepare and supervise students during examinations, rehearsals, performances, workshops and masterclasses

• Identify student needs through monitoring their progress to appropriately develop each individual’s potential

• Write student progress reports and attend parent-teacher meetings

• Manage student behaviour in the classroom by establishing and enforcing appropriate discipline

• Regularly communicate and establish excellent rapport with students and parents

• Plan and deliver lesson plans

• Regularly revise and optimise dance syllabi with other Ballet Quarter teachers

• Create classical/contemporary/lyrical choreography for our annual year-end production, coordinating costuming and selection of accompanying music

Qualifications / Requirements

• At least 2 year(s) of RAD teaching experience, preferably experience with young children (ages 3-7 years) and adult students

• RAD’s Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS)

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for conducting classes in English

• Friendly and patient with children and adolescents

• Ability to work in a team reflectively to set goals and receive constructive feedback

• Adequate knowledge in dance-specific conditioning to support students
