Chen Chi is from Taiwan. She began her teaching journey at Ballet Quarter in 2022. She graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 2023 with the Best Graduate Award and completed her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Dance, awarded by the University of West London in 2024. Currently, she is pursuing the RAD Certificate in Dance Teaching (Ballet) and also dancing with The Human Expression (T.H.E) Second Company.
Meet Chen
Chen Chi started her training in Classical Ballet, Contemporary and Chinese Dance
at the age of 9, through dance classes conducted at her Taiwanese elementary
school. In 2016 and 2017, she attended The Kirov Academy of Ballet and The Rock
School for Dance Education in the United States for six weeks of summer training.
Having participated in numerous international ballet and contemporary competitions,
she has notably achieved 2nd place in the Ballet Solo Category at the 11th Taipei
International Ballet Grand Prix and 11th place in the Contemporary Solo Category at
the World Ballet Art Competition Grand Prix in Canada.
Inspired by her experiences in competitions abroad, Chen Chi strived to pursue a
vocational dance education abroad. In 2021, she became a recipient of the Tan Chay
Bing Scholarship and was handpicked for the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts
(NAFA) Talent Development Programme. For over a year, she has been actively
involved in productions including Dance at Dusk and liTHE with T.H.E second
company, The Third Space and Crossings with NAFA.
During the time at Ballet Quarter, she has assisted in guiding students for RAD
exams and been involved in various performances as a choreographer and
instructor. Additionally, she has taught students for contemporary competitions,
leading them to win gold medals.
She aspires to become an accomplished teacher who delivers high quality dance
education, and hopes to inspire the next generation of young dancers with her
growing knowledge and pre-professional experiences.
